Overview

As a champion for excellent educational resources and opportunities for our schools, the Foundation strives to direct resources to improve the education of students. This would not be possible without the incredible support, both financial and human, from our community partners.

Since 2005, the Education Foundation has raised over $6,000,000 from corporate sponsors, grants, and individual donors for the benefit of students in the NAFC School system towards projects like:

· Providing children ages 0-5 FREE age appropriate books every month through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library

· Funding over $850,000 in Great Classroom Projects classroom grants

· Providing transportation and admission to Education Tours taken by elementary students to Derby Dinner Playhouse, Corydon State Capitol, The Ogle Center, Scribner House/Culbertson Mansion, Town Clock Church, the Kentucky Science Center, the Louisville Zoo, and other educational trips

· Sending 1600 5th and 7th grade students through Junior Achievement programs: Chase Financial Park and Sam Swope Biz Town

· Providing scholarships to graduating seniors from New Albany and Floyd Central High Schools

· Providing funding in improve school safety check in at NAFC elementary schools

· Providing $100 gift certificates to new teachers joining NAFC Schools

· Providing in school Arts experiences through Great Arts Projects

· Providing free weekly meals to nearly 1,200 elementary school children who qualify for free and reduced lunch through the next line down after Floyd County Chapter of Blessing in a Backpack
