The New Albany Floyd County Education Foundation is excited to introduce its third Legacy NAFC Alumni Royal Court. This year, eight distinguished alumni from New Albany High School and Floyd Central High School will compete to raise funds in support of NAFC teachers and students, culminating in the crowning of the top fundraiser.
Last year’s campaign, fueled by community support, raised over $55,000 for education initiatives across Floyd County. This year’s candidates bring a renewed energy and commitment, aiming to surpass previous totals.
Each candidate has unique motivations for joining the campaign. “School is essential for our kids, and the classroom resources provided by the Education Foundation are critical. It’s a privilege to be part of the 2024 Royal Court,” shared Kristen Boehnlein (NAHS ‘94). Another participant, Missy Hillock (FCHS ‘97), said, “The Education Foundation’s efforts align closely with my values and passions. From Blessings in a Backpack, providing weekend meals to children in need, to Mental Health Grants that support programs to strengthen students’ self-esteem and coping skills, these initiatives leave a lasting impact.”
Since its inception in 2005, the NAFC Education Foundation has championed educational excellence by supporting innovative classroom initiatives, providing books to young children through the Imagination Library, and sponsoring Blessings in a Backpack to ensure no child goes hungry over the weekend.
