Last Friday night, our NAFC community came together for one of our favorite traditions: the crowning of the Legacy NAFC Alumni Royal Court. With a packed house at Floyd Central High School and excitement building ahead of the New Albany vs. Floyd Central boys varsity basketball game, all eight Royal Court candidates were recognized at center court, surrounded by the energy, pride, and school spirit that make this community so special.

Because of the dedication of our alumni candidates, along with the generosity of their families, friends, and sponsors, this year’s Royal Court raised more than $50,000 to support the work of the NAFC Education Foundation. Those dollars will directly impact students and educators across all 16 NAFC schools through Classroom Grants, Mental Health Grants, Blessings in a Backpack, Imagination Library, and more that go beyond the traditional school budget.

We are incredibly grateful to each of our 2025 Royal Court participants. Their willingness to step forward, share their stories, and rally support reflects the heart of this alumni community and the deep connection so many continue to feel to NAFC schools.

A special congratulations goes to our 2025 Royal Court winner, Amanda (Hines) Braden, New Albany High School Class of 1994. Amanda’s passion for service, especially her ongoing work with Blessings in a Backpack Floyd County, embodies what this campaign is all about: showing up for students and giving back in meaningful ways. We are proud to celebrate her and thankful for the example she sets.

One of the most rewarding parts of the Royal Court is discovering alumni who are eager to support our schools in this way. Those connections often start through simple conversations and shared stories within our community. If reading this has sparked your interest, or if you know an NAFC graduate who would be a great fit for a future Royal Court, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to Sherri McKeen, Alumni Coordinator for the NAFC Education Foundation, at smckeen@nafcs.org to learn more or share a recommendation.

Thank you to our alumni, our supporters, and our entire NAFC community for making this another unforgettable year.

Sharing is caring!
