We know the joy that comes with opening the mailbox and finding a brand-new book addressed to your child. It’s a little moment that brings big smiles—and we want to celebrate it with you!
The NAFC Education Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Floyd County invite you to participate in our first-ever Books in the Mailbox Photo Contest! Whether it’s a snapshot of your child cuddled up with their latest delivery, reading with a sibling, or just lighting up when the book arrives, we want to see how the Imagination Library is making reading magical in your home.

Submission Window: June 3 – July 31, 2025
Who Can Enter:
- Families currently enrolled in the Imagination Library of Floyd County

Children must be under the age of 5 and live in Floyd County, Indiana

How to Enter: Submit your photo online.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged using the following criteria:
Joyfulness – Captures a heartwarming or joyful moment
Creativity – Original, imaginative, or playful content
Engagement – Shows family involvement or reading with a caring adult
Composition & Clarity – Visually balanced, clear, and in focus
Lighting & Color – Well-lit with intentional use of color
Prizes
One grand prize winner will be selected in each of the following age categories: birth to 1 year, 2 to 3 years, and 4 years old. Each grand prize winner will receive a $50 gift card to Carmichael’s Bookstore, generously donated by our prize sponsor. Winners will be announced the week of August 11.
