Addendum to the June 2023 Legacy Ledger e-newsletter of the New Albany Floyd County Education Foundation.
Frank Loop was elected Floyd County Sheriff for two terms and served from 2014-2022. Frank shared some of his key accomplishments with us, and they include:
- Adding ten additional Police Officers to improve the safety of our streets by increasing the number of patrols and reducing response times.
- Creating an in-house Fleet Maintenance facility which saves taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars.
- Adding additional radio towers to Georgetown and Southern Floyd County to enhance radio communications for all first responders.
- Creating a regional SWAT team by combining resources from Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties resulting in saving tens of thousands of dollars and improving the emergency response for the entire region.
- Working with County Government Officials to secure a livable wage for the employees thus reducing turnover and attracting the most qualified employees possible.
- Renovating the Floyd County Jail, adding 161 beds bringing the facility up to federal standards including new kitchen, new lighting, plumbing and HVAC and all new technology throughout.
